\”On March 20th, we held our first Food Distribution Day at The Matrix Center alongside Gleaners Community Food Bank in response to the Coronavirus crisis. We weren’t sure what to expect, but that day over 300 people came to The Matrix Center while remaining in their vehicles so Gleaners volunteers could place donated food in for them while maintaining social distancing. The line of cars stretched for blocks, showing how important food needs are during this critical time.\”
The quote above is shared from our first story about distributing food to families in need alongside Gleaners Community Food Bank when Coronavirus fears were taking off. We continued to distribute food every-other Friday with Gleaners until June 26th, when we no longer had a line of cars and the need for food was back to what was expected before the pandemic started. We will continue to provide food to those in need on our regular \”Food Tuesday\’s\” with Forgotten Harvest, at The Matrix Center – 13560 E. McNichols, rd. Detroit, MI 48205.
