On October 6th, 2020, Amazon employees from distribution and fulfillment centers in Hazel Park and Livonia visited The Matrix Center during our bi-weekly Food Tuesday distributions to present Matrix Human Services with a check for $33,000!

We are beyond grateful to Amazon and the employees who voted for Matrix Human Services to receive the community Coronavirus support for our crucial COVID-19 response programs and services, including our Food Tuesday distributions with Forgotten Harvest. Amazon employees even helped distribute food to a long line of cars waiting to receive emergency food relief after presenting the check to Matrix Human Services President and CEO, Brad Coulter.

\”Today we are proudly accepting a donation from Amazon and it makes it even more special because it was voted on by their employees, so that really means a lot that their staff thought enough of what Matrix does to give us this kind of a sizable donation. We\’re one of the largest non-profits in the city of Detroit and today this is gonna help out with our Food Distribution, it\’s gonna help out and support our community center. We do food distributions at our community center at McNichols and Gratiot every other Tuesday and it\’s also gonna help out and support our other programming for teens and adults, so it\’s a really nice donation for us to receive. It feels great because this was totally unexpected that the employees would vote for us and come out and award us this donation. It\’s a very pleasant surprise.\” – President and CEO of Matrix Human Services, Brad Coulter
