LOCAL NONPROFIT EMPLOYEES STEP UP COLLECTING THOUSANDS OF BOTTLES OF WATER TO HELP FLINT RESIDENTS

DETROIT, January 17, 2016 – Matrix Human Services, a 110 year Human Service organization in Detroit gives a standing ovation to employees for stepping up to help Flint, MI residents forced to deal with deplorable water conditions contaminated by lead. Thousands of bottles of water have been collected. Employees are asking the community to join forces to donate.  This water drive is being spearheaded by Jesse Butler, Director of Facilities for the long standing organization.

It takes one person to make a difference. When employees discovered I was collecting water from friends and family to take to Flint, they jumped on board and the effort simply snowballed. From there, complete strangers started contacting me to donate and one gentlemen simply gave me money to purchase water on his behalf.  It’s an approximate $3.50 investment to help.
