EVERY PENNY COUNTS

At Matrix Human Services, 88 cents of every dollar donated goes directly toward program funding. This means 88% of every donation directly impacts those in need. With programs operating at more than 40 locations across the city of Detroit, Matrix Human Services serves more than 25,000 individuals and families yearly.

GIVE WHAT YOU CAN

Every donation makes a difference. Consider setting up a reoccurring monthly donation to provide support toward our mission all year long.

Matrix Human Services, a 501(c)3 organization, has served the Detroit community and surrounding areas for more than 110 years. The League of Catholic Women led the way in 1906 with a vision and mission to fight poverty. Today our mission remains the same as we continue to touch lives and change hearts in our community.

WAYS TO GIVE

GENERAL MERCHANDISE
In addition to financial support, our programs rely on the generosity of our supporters to provide essential services and support to the community. Donations of goods – food, clothing, furnishings and supplies – are in demand. General merchandise items are useful and needed by our programs and essential to those we serve.

CLOTHING CLOSET
Our clothing closet provides career clothing for interviews, replacement wardrobes for crisis situations, cold weather gear for the unequipped, school clothes for growing children and so much more. We outfit men, women and children of all ages – in need – at no cost. Clothing donations are needed for man, women and children of all sizes!

GIVEAWAY DAYS
Items donated to Matrix are freely distributed during Giveaway Days at The Matrix Center. A quarterly event, Giveaway Day welcomes the community to simply come and take what they need, for free. We’re currently collecting clothing, household items, furnishings, small appliances and more for the next Giveaway Day!

EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY
The Emergency Food Pantry acts as a supplement to other food programs, helping to ensure all clients have access to adequate food. The food pantry also provides a safety net in crisis situations. ORGANIZE A FOOD DRIVE!

DIAPER DRIVE
Supporting our families, we provide all items needed for care at our Head Start program centers, including diapers. Federal guidelines don’t allow our Head Start families to bring diapers to the program. As of 12/15/2014 Matrix Head Start centers use an average of 7,000 diapers a week. JOIN THE DIAPER DRIVE CHALLENGE!
